fluent se complace en anunciar una nueva producción de INLAND.
INLAND (Campo Adentro) es una organización iniciada en 2009 que trabaja sobre el género del paisaje en relación al estudio del contexto local, generando intervenciones sobre el territorio, las economías y ciertos imaginarios colectivos como la construcción cultural de la montaña o la posibilidad de otros futuros.
Para esta itinerancia específica, INLAND es acogido por fluent como para-institución centrada en explorar la Liébana. Esta comarca es un escenario de dinámicas territoriales y modelos de desarrollo cambiantes, en la que se superponen los procesos de modernización y la permanencia de modelos de gestión comunal vernácula. El proyecto se detiene en plantear un imaginario que abarca desde la economía tradicional de subsistencia o el auge y la caída del sector lácteo, hasta la primacía del turismo en la que desembocan las visiones idílicas y épicas de Picos de Europa. Mientras asistimos a un proceso de despoblación y envejecimiento, sus pueblos albergan iniciativas de regeneración e inquietud por un modelo que permita la sostenibilidad del territorio.
Tras una primera fase atendiendo a diversas referencias históricas y a las visiones actuales de sus habitantes, se presentará ''Sustento'', un ensayo audiovisual producido para la ocasión, tras el que habrá un debate con representantes de diferentes sectores locales acerca de las problemáticas e ideas que se plantean sobre la comarca.
Acerca de INLAND :
INLAND (Campo Adentro) es un proyecto sobre una organización que vincula territorio, cultura y cambio social, y una plataforma de colaboración. Iniciado por Fernando Garcia Dory en 2009, INLAND actúa de diferentes formas en distintos países: publica libros, produce exposiciones o queso, hace de consultora para la Comisión Europea sobre el uso del arte en procesos de desarrollo rural. Al mismo tiempo sus esfuerzos se centran en organizar un movimiento de pastores de oposición a la política agraria dominante, y a recuperar una aldea abandonada para la producción agraria y artística colectiva. INLAND ha participado en la Bienal de Estambul en 2015, y ese mismo año en Casco Art Projects Holanda, PAV Torino Italia, Maebashi Museum Japón. En 2017 se ha presentado en Contemporary Arts Glasgow, MALBA, Matadero Centro de Arte Madrid , Museo de Arte Moderno Medellin Colombia, y con acciones de campo en Italia (TRANSART Festival Bolzano y Puglia) y en la Bienal de Jeju, Corea del Sur. Recientemente INLAND ha sido premiado por Council of Forms, Paris y la Fundación Carasso para definir Nuevo Curriculum, un proyecto por el que formar a los artistas y agentes de desarrollo rural del futuro.
Este proyecto, producido por fluent en colaboración con el Gobierno de Cantabria, forma parte de la temporada Estéticas de la Contaminación, un ciclo de arte contemporáneo que explora el potencial de la contaminación como un terreno donde tecnología, naturaleza y sociedad se afectan mutuamente y donde la relación entre el individuo y el medio ambiente es una transformación viral sin fin.

INLAND (Campo Adentro) is an organisation created in 2009 working on the notion of landscape in relation to research processes on local contexts. It produces interventions in specific territories, economies and collective imaginaries such as the cultural construction of the mountain or the potentiality for futures to come.
For this specific itinerancy, INLAND is hosted by fluent as a para-institution exploring the region of Liébana. This area is currently a scenario of territorial dynamics and developments in permanent change, where processes of modernization and vernacular commons coexist. The project poses an imaginary that explores traditional economies of subsistence or the boom and fall of the dairy sector, the primacy of tourism and the idyllic and epic perspectives around Picos de Europa. While witnessing a process of depopulation and aging, its villages are hosting regeneration initiatives as models that allow the sustainability of the territory.
After preliminary field works, studying the region's historical landmarks and the current preoccupations of its inhabitants, the event will launch ''Sustento'', a new-comissioned video essay that will trigger a conversation with some local agents coming from different sectors of the region.
About INLAND:
INLAND is an arts collective, dedicated to agricultural, social and cultural production, and a collaborative agency. It confronts various problems of a system that is collapsing at its environmental, cultural and financial levels – affecting both the planet and the individual- by formulating critical tools and applying them through experimental practice. It builds on the premise that the rural offers a physical and cultural space for the generation of diverse ways of life that differ from the hegemonic model. These other livelihoods are aware of their partial insertion in all established networks of exchange and aim to generate enough creative mass to question those power dynamics, as well as the current relationship between centre and peripheries. INLAND is based on a sort of three words manifesto, art-agriculture-territory, and it speaks from the silenced other realities resisting erasure. INLAND has participated in the Istanbul Biennial (2015), and collaborated with Casco Art Projects in Holland, PAV Torino in Italy and the Maebashi Museum of Japan. In 2017 it has been working at Contemporary Arts Glasgow, MALBA, Matadero Madrid, Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellin, and developing field actions in Italy (TRANSART Festival Bolzano and Puglia) and at the Jeju Biennial, South Korea. Recently INLAND has been awarded the Council of Forms, Paris and the Carasso Foundation awards to finalise New Curriculum, a project devoted to training the artists and rural agents of the future.
This project has been comissioned by fluent in collaboration with the Regional Government. It is conceived as part of Aesthetics of Contamination, a thematic season that explores the potential of contamination as the common ground where technology, nature and society inform each other; and where the relationship between the individual and the environment is an endless viral transformation.
